The Products We Use

Not all professional nail products are the same, and the brands a studio chooses matter more than most clients realise. The difference between a manicure that lifts after a week and one that lasts three shows up in the product, the application, and the lamp used to cure it.

At The Glossy Garden, we made deliberate choices about what we bring into our studio: based on hypoallergenic formulation, professional performance, and how each product behaves on the natural nail over time.

The Gel Bottle

The Gel Bottle is a UK-based professional nail brand used by salons across Europe and North America. Their gel polish line is known for its high pigment concentration, which means fewer coats for full coverage and better colour consistency across the whole nail.

We use The Gel Bottle for our gel manicure services. The formula is free from the most common sensitising ingredients found in lower-grade gel polishes, making it a better option for clients with sensitive skin or a history of reactions to nail products.

Après Gel

Après Gel is the brand behind our soft gel overlay and extension treatments. Their Builder Gel in a Bottle (BIAB) product was developed specifically with natural nail health in mind - it's designed to be flexible enough to move with the nail rather than crack under pressure, and is formulated without the harsh components found in some traditional enhancement products.

We also use Après Tips for our soft gel extension service. These are pre-formed, ultra-thin nail tips in a range of shapes and sizes that are bonded with BIAB for a finish that looks natural and sits close to the nail plate.

The Après Nova Nail Lamp

The Après Nova is not just an LED curing lamp. It also emits red light at a clinical wavelength during the curing process - a feature that most standard salon lamps do not include.

Red light therapy at specific wavelengths has been studied for its effects on circulation and tissue health. In the context of nail services, this means the lamp is doing more than curing the product: it's supporting blood flow to the nail bed and surrounding skin during your appointment.

The Nova is a professional-grade lamp designed for use with Après products and is not commonly found outside specialist studios. If nail health is a priority for you, this is one of the features that makes a practical difference to your long-term results.

Why Hypoallergenic Matters

Allergic reactions to nail products are more common than most people know, and they tend to build up over time rather than appearing after a single exposure. The most frequent culprits are certain photoinitiators and acrylates found in lower-grade gels and acrylics.

At The Glossy Garden, every product in our service menu has been selected partly on the basis of its sensitisation profile. This isn't just a marketing claim. It's the reason we don't offer acrylic services, it's why we've chosen The Gel Bottle and Après over cheaper alternatives, and it's the standard we hold ourselves to when we evaluate any new product.

If you've had a reaction at a previous salon and are uncertain whether you can get nail services safely, book a consultation note in your Fresha appointment before we start. We'll talk through your history and make a recommendation.
